The season 24/25 opens for Momme Hinrichs at the Semperoper Dresden with Mefistofele (directed by Eva-Maria Höckmayr), followed by Der Freischütz at the Staatstheater Cottbus, Tannhäuser ( directed by Lydia Steier) at the Vienna State Opera, and The Flying Dutchman (directed by Philipp-Maria Krenn) at the Open Air Festival St. Margarethen.

Momme Hinrichs has achieved international prominence as co-founder of the artistic duo fettFilm, with which he has played a major role in the development of video projections, as well as the role of video-designers, in theaters since the year 2000. He has also been active as a set designer since 2007, producing work that achieves a symbiosis between the stage and projections, leading to an integrated artform that seamlessly merges the music with the action on stage.

His work has led him to many of Europe’s leading festivals such as those of Salzburg, Bayreuth and Bregenz, as well as opera houses in Berlin, Hamburg, Munich, Cologne, Hanover, Oslo, Paris, Toulouse, Nancy, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Vienna, Budapest, Barcelona, and Florence, in addition to international theaters in North America, China, India and in the Middle East.

In the 2023/24 season, Momme Hinrichs has  set Don Carlos at the Grand Theatre de Geneve (directed by Lydia Steier), Die Zauberflöte at the Gärtnerplatztheater Munich (directed by Josef E. Köpplinger), Candide at the Theater an der Wien (directed byLydia Steier), as well as Jesus Christ Superstar at the Staatstheater Nürnberg (directed by Andreas Gergen).

Other highlights include Die Frau ohne Schatten at the Baden-Baden Easter Festival and Salome at the Opera de Paris (both directed by Lydia Steier).

Among his accolades is Ukraine’s highest state award for culture and the arts, the Shevchenko National Prize, which was awarded in 2021 to the Donbass Opera Donetsk’s production of The Flying Dutchman for which he and fettFilm designed the sets and projections.

Since 2014, Momme Hinrichs has also been successfully working as a director.
