Joana Mallwitz signs exclusive contract with Deutsche Grammophon
JOANA MALLWITZ to conduct Deutsche Grammophon's gala concert to mark the label's 125th anniversary later this year.
Deutsche Grammophon now announces the signing of an exclusive contract with German conductor Joana Mallwitz. She will also take up her new post as Chief Conductor and Artistic Director of the Konzerthausorchester Berlin at the start of the 2023/24 season, following five years as General Music Director at the Staatstheater Nürnberg.
The focus of the new partnership between conductor and label will be productions with her future ensemble, the Konzerthausorchester Berlin. Audio, video and livestream projects are planned. The full diversity of her art will be reflected in them. Her impressive repertoire spans all eras and genres, and she is just as successful on the opera stage as in the concert hall.
