In recent years, the Austrian tenor has been able to establish himself as a permanent fixture in both the opera and concert repertoire thanks to his great versatility.
He begins the 2024/25 season with the new production of Strauss' Ariadne auf Naxos at the Opéra de Tenerife, in which he takes on the roles of the Tanzmeister and Brighella. He then makes his role debut at the Cottbus State Theatre as Wenzel Strapinski in the new production of Zemlinsky's opera Kleider machen Leute. The Volksoper Wien presents the tenor again as Microscope in the revival of Offenbach's Die Reise zum Mond. For the Strauß Year 2025, Paul Schweinester will first be heard in the concert performance of Karneval in Rom and finally in the new production of Der Zigeunerbaron at Theater an der Wien. The Langenlois Festival has engaged him as Niki for the new production of Walzertraum. Paul Schweinester's concert engagements include Bach's St Matthew Passion at the Erl Festival.

Paul Schweinester was born in Innsbruck and became soprano soloist of the Wiltener Sängerknaben. In 2009 he graduated from the University of Music and performing Arts in Vienna with distinction and continued his studies at the Conservatorio di Musica Santa Cecilia in Rome. As a member of the Young Singers Project at Salzburg Festival 2012 he had opportunity to work with conductors such as Daniele Gatti and Ingo Metzmacher. From 2009/10 to 2012/13 he was member of the ensemble at Wiener Volksoper.
