Romanian Bass Bogdan Talos studied at the „Georghe Dima“ Music Academy in Cluj-Napoca, graduating in 2006.
He made his operatic debut in 2010 as Donizetti’s Don Pasquale. Thereafter, he appeared at the opera houses in Cluj-Naopca and Craiova as Colline and Shaunard (La Bohème) in 2011, and as Escamillo (Carmen) and Ferrando (Il Trovatore) in 2012.
Mr. Talos has been a member of the ensemble of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein Düsseldorf-Duisburg since the 2014/15 season, before which he was a member of the opera studio at the Komische Oper Berlin. His primary roles at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein to date include Filippo (Don Carlo), Il Re (Aida), Giorgio Talbot (Maria Stuarda), Raimondo (Lucia di Lammermoor), Alidoro (La Cenerentola), Frere Laurent (Roméo et Juliette), Leporello (Don Giovanni), Figaro (Nozze di Figaro), Sarastro (Zauberflöte), Truffaldino (Ariadne auf Naxos), Hermann/Schlehmil (Les Contes d’Hoffmann), Herold (L’amour des trois oranges), and Fasolt (Rheingold) among others.
In Summer 2019 Mr. Talos sang Sarastro (Zauberflöte) at the festival “Oper im Steinbruch,” while the 2019/20 season will see him make roll-debuts at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein as Georgio (I Puritani) and Banquo (Macbeth).
In concert, he regularly performs works such as the requiems of Brahms, Mozart and Verdi, as well as Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9.
Mr. Talos is the recipient of numerous awards and prizes, such as First Prize of the Romanian Vocal Competition Brasov in 2011 and First Prize at the Haricleea Darclée in 2012.
