Adina Aaron is considered one of the most promising spinto-sopranos to have emerged in the last few years, in particular due to her great successes as Aida, Tosca, Leonora, Luisa Miller or Lady Macbeth at opera houses like Theater an der Wien, Brussels, Washington, Marseille, Cologne, Stuttgart and at the Maifestspiele in Wiesbaden. She received fantastic review from the international press for her Aida in a new production of the opera at La Monnaie Brussels. Her engagements in 2018/19 include Verdi`s Messa da Requiem with the Beethoven Orchester Bonn, Leonora in Forza del destino at Oper Köln, as well as a new production of Porgy and Bess at the Nederlandse Opera Amsterdam.
In 2017/18 she sang in the production of Le dernier jour d‘un condamné at Opéra de Marseille next to Roberto Alagna, gave her role debut as Norma at Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden, and sang Amelia in a new production of Ballo in Maschera, also in Wiesbaden.
In the 2015/2016 season Ms. Aaron returned to Oper Köln as Aida and Tosca as well as to Oper Stuttgart as Tosca. Later that season she sang Verdi’s Requiem in Nantes, as well as Tosca in Marseille and Wiesbaden, and Luisa Miller in Stuttgart. At the beginning of the 2013/2014 season Ms. Aaron gave her debut at Washington National Opera as Leonora in Verdi’s La forza del destino and performed the same role in Cologne, followed by The last days of a condemned man in Avignon. In the season before she gave her house debut at Lyric Opera Chicago with Porgy and Bess. In 2012/2013 she sang Aida at the Aalto-Theater in Essen, made her Tosca debut at Staatsoper Stuttgart and returned there for Verdi’s Messa da Requiem. Ms. Aaron returned to Marseille in 2012 as Leonora in Il Trovatore, after her appearance in the same role in Avignon and at Opéra de Montreál.
In the 2011/2012 season she performed Vitellia in La clemenza di Tito and took over the soprano part in a staged version of the Verdi’s Messa da Requiem in Cologne, which she had previously performed in Marseille. In the 2009/2010 season Ms. Aaron appeared in La Bohème as Mimi, and as Elisabetta in Don Carlo in Tel Aviv. Alongside those performances, she sang Tosca at the Salerno Festival in France, Alice Ford in Falstaff, Amelia in Un Ballo in Maschera, as well as the female leading part in Treemonisha at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris.
Previous engagements led her in concert performances of Porgy and Bess to Milano, to Erfurt as Amelia in Un Ballo in Maschera and to the Anchorage Opera as Trovatore-Leonora. She debuted as Aida at the Opéra Royal de Wallonie in Liège and sang Fiordiligi in Cosi fan tutte at the Israeli Opera. In Franco Zeffirelli’s new production of Aida she sang the title role at the Fondazione Arturo Toscanini Busseto. The production was broadcasted by RAI throughout Europe and published on DVD by TDK.
In addition to the roles mentioned here, her repertoire includes Donna Anna in Don Giovanni, Contessa in Le Nozze de Figaro, Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus, Dido in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas, Carlisle Floyd’s Susannah, Micaela in Carmen, Sister Rose in Dead Man Walking, Musetta in La Boheme, and Liu in Turandot.
Her concert repertoire includes Strauss’ Vier letzte Lieder, Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9, Barber’s Knoxville Summer of 1915, the Masses of Beethoven and Mozart as well as Berlioz’ Les Nuits d’Été, i.a.
Ms. Aaron holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Florida International University and a Master of Music degree from Boston Conservatory.
